Today with Joe’s son Pete assuming day-to-day management operations, that small farm that Joe purchased in 1979 has turned into a multi-regional operation spread over 5,000 acres in California, Arizona and Mexico – and the business keeps growing.
Uesugi Farms offers over 20 varieties of fresh produce, including bell peppers, chili peppers, Napa cabbage, sweet corn, strawberries, pumpkins and beans to retailers, foodservice distributors, wholesalers and processors across the nation and the world. Uesugi Farms is known as one of the premier grower/packer/shippers in the industry, but is also recognized in the local community for its extravagant pumpkin patch during autumn and its roadside produce stands. These are just a couple of the ways we give back to the community and have a bit of fun while we’re at it.
Our approach to business is straightforward: quality products combined with quality service – and a healthy dose of calculated risks to continue growing and stay just ahead of the market. We also know that great products come from great people. We’re proud of our tight-knit group of dedicated employees, many of whom have been with us since the start of our business almost four decades ago. Honesty and integrity aren’t just ideals; they’re the codes by which we live. We stand behind our people and we stand behind our premium-quality products.
