Heavyweight champion pumpkins stress the scales at Uesugi Farms 19th annual pumpkin weigh-in. A slew of proud contenders from throughout the west coast will compete for over $10,000 in prize money. In a pay-by-the-pound system, the winner will receive $5 per pound for the champion pumpkin.
The massive pumpkins will be lifted with a forklift on our giant electronic scale with a custom-built harness, under the watchful eye of officials from the Great Pumpkin Commonwealth International Competition organization.
The grand champion pumpkin and other select pumpkins will be on display and available for photo opportunities through the month of October.
